What are Chemical Peels?
For the highest quality results from chemical peel treatments, our team at Rejuve Aesthetic Surgery is proud to provide you with personalized options. Your facial treatment with chemical solutions, like salicylic, glycolic, lactic, and trichloroacetic acids, will reveal healthier skin. At our Tampa, FL office, Dr. Brandon-Dzung Mang offers chemical peel treatments to help reduce the appearance of acne scars, wrinkles, fine lines, dry patches, and hyperpigmentation. Chemical peels remove dead, damaged skin cells by using a personalized chemical solution, which causes the top layer to peel off. When your skin recovers and starts to repair itself, you will notice a smoother complexion. A chemical peel is a nonsurgical procedure that can make your complexion look more luminous.
Variations of Chemical Peels
To meet our patients' skin care needs and goals, we offer different types of chemical peels. Each treatment varies in strength and offers many benefits.
Light Peels: You can have a light chemical peel during your lunchtime and go right back to work after the treatment. A light peel removes the outer layer of your skin, giving your face a brighter appearance and smoother texture. We usually suggest that you schedule a light treatment at least once a month for the best results.
Medium-depth Peels: This level of chemical peel goes deeper into the skin, and you'll generally prefer to complete it over a long weekend. You may also need to prepare yourself for additional discomfort. Medium-depth peels work best for patients who have significant skin damage, such as deeper lines or darker pigmentation problems.
Deep Peels: The deep chemical peel is the strongest, and it will require the longest recovery time. This treatment can cause swelling, peeling, and itching for a few weeks. Patients who receive a deep peel have age or dark spots, sun damage, prominent acne scars, or deep-seated scars. Since this level of chemical peel is uncomfortable for most patients, your aesthetician can provide you with mild anesthesia as a part of your treatment.
"I had breast surgery done from Dr. Mang 17 years ago, the results were amazing. I had minimal scarring. He and his staff followed up with me amazingly. Fast forward almost 20 years later, due to weight loss, weight gain, 2 more children and poor skin due to heritertly, I went back to Dr. Mang for another surgery. Again the results were perfect. In addition to excellent work, he checks on you PERSONALLY after your surgery. He is a talented surgeon. I again received exactly what I was looking for. Some people expect plastic surgeons to make them look like the housewives of Beverly Hills.. this isn’t going to happen ladies..However a good Dr. WILL create the best look and fit for you and what you have to work with."- A.L. / Google / Jun 09, 2020
"I always wanted to try out Botox, just a chicken committing because I don’t like needles; A few of my coworkers went with me to ease the idea of doing it alone. It’s important to note, they used clean and individual packages of needles for each of us and numbing cream with betadine on the spots I wanted to be injected with the filler. The process wasn’t bad at all, especially since they were doing a $9/unit special accompanied by a glass of Rose - how can I say no to that? When Dr. Mang injected my forehead and pulled out the needle, you can hear a small crunch; this is normal and Dr. Mang explained if you don’t hear this sound, it is not being done correctly. I wouldn’t have done this or brought other people unless it was anyone else than fellow Yelper, Anna M., because I trust her so much.Thank you for the opportunity - even though I got 10 units vs. 50 units of botox compared to a coworker - I feel that it was effective to iron out my wrinkles, even though I know I have minimal amount heading into my 30s. This was my X-mas gift to myself!I saw firsthand the difference for people who do have a lot of wrinkles & are young, so IMO botox is such an amazing product to help smooth out wrinkles."- J.X. / Google / Mar 01, 2020
"Dr. Brandon Mang has recently relocated his Pinellas Park office to South Tampa on Gandy Boulevard. I normally receive Botox injections from a nurse practitioner at a nearby practice. The people who have injected my Botox in the past have been quick in their process...almost too quick. Dr. Mang takes the time to discuss your areas of concern, applies numbing cream, and then marks these areas with Betadine to ensure no infection and proper placement. I chose Dr. Mang because he is an expert in his field. He and his staff are professional and friendly. Dr. Mang’s genuine bedside manner with his patients is truly one of the best I have ever encountered. He takes the time to answer all your questions and discusses the advantages and disadvantages of the procedures you are inquiring about. I highly recommend Dr. Brandon Mang for all your plastic and cosmetic surgery needs."- A.M. / Google / Feb 20, 2020

"Had Liposuction and he was amazing. Im still very swollen but I can tell he did an amazing job. The staff is amazing and the office and OR is very clean and neat. Thanks for the staff and for everything. If you are looking to get lipo at a good price he is the doctor for you."- N.R. / Google / Apr 29, 2019
Is A Chemical Peel Right For You?
Receiving the advice of an aesthetic professional is the first part of the journey to smooth, healthy skin. At Rejuve Aesthetic Surgery, a team member will evaluate your skin before selecting the best chemical peel for you. Chemical peel patients often have noticeable problems on their skin, including rough patches, acne scars, flaky skin, discoloration, fine lines, wrinkles, and sun damage. We will recommend different types of chemical peels to match your needs and create a tailored treatment plan.
During your procedure, we will ask you to relax in a comfortable treatment chair. Before applying the solution to your face, neck, or both places, your skin is cleaned to remove any oil or dirt. Next, one of our team members will carefully brush the personalized solution onto your skin and allow it to sit for a certain amount of time. We will determine the length of time during your consultation. Finally, we will wash off the solution and apply a neutralizing agent. To avoid UV exposure, you should bring sunscreen and a hat to wear outside after the treatment.
What to Expect
Depending on the level of the chemical peel you choose, you should expect the face to itch and peel for several days to a couple of weeks. Dr. Mang or a member of his team will provide detailed aftercare instructions that outline how to care for your skin. To ensure your skin heals properly, you should follow these directions. Please keep in mind that no matter how badly your skin itches during the healing process, it is not a good idea to peel it. This could create scarring to your delicate skin!
